Auto Empty Folders option in CFD-GEOM

When importing large models into CFD-GEOM, you may notice that certain entities listed in the Model Manager may have a red box around them. In Figure 1a the red outline appears for Solids, Shells, and Surfaces.

When this occurs, it is an indication that the quantity of this particular entity has exceeded the maximum limit. These entities will still be visible in GUI, but are not shown in the entities list. This maximum limit is specified in the Auto Empty Folders table. To access this table, a user has to select the model name in the Model Manager and then expand the Auto Empty folders under Model Settings (Figure 1). This table lists the types and the maximum number of entities which can be stored in a folder. When the quantity of a particular entity exceeds the maximum limit corresponding to that entity, the folder in the entity tree will be emptied and shown with red outline box (Figure 1a).

The example considered here contains 246 solids; however the maximum number of solids was set to 200. This will result in automatically emptying “Solids” folder in the entities tree. In order to see these solids in the entity tree, the value should be increased to 250 or more (Figure 1b). Once this value has changed, future sessions of CFD-GEOM will use the new number.
