Blanking, Grouping and Selecting Entities in CFD-CADalyzer Print E-mail

When working with models in CFD-CADalyzer, especially the more complicated ones, Blanking, Grouping and Selection tools can considerably simplify model setup and visualization. On the top right corner of the Entity List panel, there are 8 tools that are available in all Picking modes (Edges, Surfaces, Parts).

These tools perform the following functions:

Blanking and Unblanking

Blank - Blanks selected entities: To blank front surfaces/parts to gain access to the rest of the model; to check the grid on the inner surfaces/parts of the model. Ctrl-B (after making the selection) is the corresponding keyboard command.

figure3

Blank Remaining - Blanks all unselected entities: To blank out everything except one (or a few) part that needs to be worked on. Ctrl-R (after making the selection) is the corresponding keyboard command.

figure4 (8K)

Unblank - Unblanks selected objects: To make visible a surface/part that was just blanked out.

UnBlank All - Unblanks all entities: To make all surfaces/parts in the model visible again

Grouping and Ungrouping

Group - Groups selected entities: To group together surfaces that are to be assigned the same boundary condition (similarly for parts with same VCs); group together surfaces/parts over each of which the grid needs to be locally refined to the same extent.

Ungroup - Ungroups selected group: destroys the grouping and gives back the individual surfaces/parts.

General Selection

Select All - Selects all visible entities. Ctrl-A is the corresponding keyboard command.

Deselect All - Deselects all entities

Manipulate Models within Microsoft Office Documents using OpenHSF

Reports can be made more informative and presentations made more dynamic by incorporating images of your models that can be manipulated within the Microsoft environment.

Automatic Report Generator in CFD-CADalyzer

The Report Generator in CFD-CADalyzer allows a user to generate and print a detailed report of the CFD simulation that has been set up and run.  The user can also customize the report to make it fit his/her needs and demands.

Inverting Models in CFD-CADalyzer

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) requires the discretization of a geometry bounded by it's wetted surfaces. In CAD, the solid parts are created without the corresponding fluid volumes, i.e. negative space.
