PAM-FLOW CFD Physics Solver |
|
PAM-FLOW is an advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software
product used to simulate unsteady flow phenomena present in a wide
variety of industrial and research applications. The exceptional
transient accuracy of PAM-FLOW permits the simulation of large-eddy or
very large-eddy type simulations (LES) of unsteady and turbulent fluid
flow phenomena.
The objective of the PAM-FLOW product is to provide an accurate CFD
tool to carry out virtual testing and virtual prototyping solutions in
industry at both the production level and in research and development.
PAM-FLOW has applicability in many industries, including automotive and
other ground transportation, rotating machinery, heavy machinery,
aerospace and bio-medical. Some example applications are:
Performance
- Numerical Vehicle Wind Tunnel. Can handle all types of automotive
configurations, from styling mock-ups to production level geometries
with extensive detail, including front-end, underhood and underbody.
- Prediction for performance characteristics of rotating
machinery, including accurate prediction of non-linear stator/rotor
interaction.
|
Safety
- Simulations of vehicle instabilities (static cross-wind
simulation and dynamic passing simulation) for vehicle performance,
safety and comfort at high speed cruising.
- Airbag deployment simulation covering virtual airbag tank testing and out of position (OOP) airbag deployment simulations
- Bio-fluid mechanics for occupant safety analysis during vehicle impacts
|
Comfort
- Computational aero-acoustics prediction for dipole pressure
sound sources, including wind noise prediction for vehicles (external
and internal), and noise source prediction for internal components such
as fans, ducts etc.
- Climate control comfort estimation using flow and thermal
coupled simulation PAM-FLOW is a part of the virtual-try out space
(VTOS) solution from ESI. The fluid-structure interaction capability
obtained by coupling with PAM-CRASH, PAM-SAFE and PAM-SHOCK provides a
compelling value-chain of virtual prototyping solutions.
