Abstract
We present a novel centrifugal actuation principle for a hydrodynamic micromixer constituted by a simple network of four parallel, low-aspect-ratio microchannels on a spinning disk. Based on the previously explored self-patterning of flow under the impact of the Coriolis force, we for the first time realize an 8-fold lamination of two incoming flows, thus leading to a 16(!)-fold acceleration of the diffusion limited mixing process.
